We work with both men and women through community development and discipleship. We also facilitate literacy classes for local women from a curriculum that our workers have developed. We wish to see the local men and women better equipped for the things they are facing.
Restoration Project
“Part of a generation from the age of 28 to 50 seems to have been left illiterate, especially the ladies. My heart goes out to them as they rely on their children for reading anything from a text message to a sign in the hospital or market. Illiteracy makes a person very dependent on others. The level of literacy can really make a difference in how people perceive their own value. Becoming literate is no small undertaking. I tell them it’s like building a house; you need to plan and give yourself lots of time!”
