Establishing a work in the Middle East

Beginnings

A group of people, burdened for the people of northern Iraq, had been praying for this region for years. In 2014, a genocide crisis brought death, enslavement, and displacement. This tragedy provided an open door for entry to this region with an initial response of humanitarian aid. Kingdom Channels was formed in 2016 to support long term discipleship efforts.

English teaching emerged as a long term opportunity and legitimacy to remain in the area. Operations started with short term volunteers teaching children during the summer but soon other age groups were attending as well.

With learning English in such high demand, it made an excellent platform to reach out to people of all ages, building trust with the surrounding community and providing a basis to naturally build and invest in relationships.

The stateside team consists of staff from various Anabaptist churches, with the administrative headquarters in Ephrata PA. Kingdom Channels is governed by a board of seven members, as well as a board of advisors.
