SEND
And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!”
Romans 10:15
Be involved in sending workers to the field by supporting relationally, logistically, and financially. Often, workers need relational support just as much, if not more than, financial support. Your support as a friend, family, or church can strengthen laborers and further the Gospel in many ways.
Check in with the workers you know and ask how you can best support them.
-
Connect regularly, ask thoughtful questions, and listen well. Offer encouragement and pray with them.
Send a care package from your family or church with encouraging cards and small, meaningful gifts.
Let them know they are being prayed for and respond to their newsletters or update groups.
-
Ask if they need help managing their mail or other things while they are gone
Help coordinate and arrange their travel and housing when they come home on furlough
Assist with scheduling presentations and set-up/tear-down when they give a presentation
-
Stay informed about their financial needs and ensure their needs are being met
If helpful, organize fundraising events to raise funds for specific needs
